Final observation summary and evaluations: Many of you have already received your second observation summary and final evaluation.  Recently we were told that the second observation should be based on the short walk throughs that happen throughout the year rather than a single observation.  These should be esigned and then they are returned to me. Please let me know if you have any questions about this process or if you have any difficulties getting them signed.  Please feel free to schedule an appointment with me if you'd like to discuss the final evaluation.  Please get your student achievement data to me no later than Wednesday May 11.  This should be either pre and post test data or or CTE data.  The state met in March and changed the list of acceptable assessment data to measure.  (Yes.  March.  To be implemented immediately.  Don't get me started)

Upcoming dates to note:

June 3, Friday:  Field day and BBQ - Regular schedule - students will have lunch at regular time             followed by field activities.  Hook and Pavlik will have sign up sheets in the halls for students to             sign up for events.

June 8, Wednesday:  Exhibit night (2:30 - 4:30) Last day for seniors

June 9, Thursday:  Regular schedule, students will take finals in 2nd and 4th period.  Senior BBQ at            3:30, senior picture, grad practice and graduation at 6:00 pm.  We will try for outdoors, weather             permitting.

June 10, Friday:  Regular schedule.  Students will go to 1st, 3rd, and 5th period 21st century skills,         lunch and then buses will be here at 12:20.  If students have a ride, they may leave at 11:15.  They         may not wander the halls or hang out in the gym. They are either in class or they go home.

Learning Walks...  On Thursday, April 14, district and secondary administrative staff will participate in a Learning Walk at Venture High School from 7:00 until 10:00.  They will visit classrooms and give us feedback around how we are implementing the Teaching Framework with students.

They will be invited to walk around the school and visit any classrooms.  During passing periods they may ask you questions seeking out more information about the Teaching Framework, student engagement and any challenges or successes.

In my classroom walkthroughs, I routinely see elements of the framework in every classroom.  This would be a great day to show case the work we are doing with students and also to get feedback to help us improve that process.
